The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are deepening their partnership with Dayforce Inc., expanding their use of the company’s human capital management software to include performance and compensation management tools, Dayforce announced Wednesday.

The NFL franchise first adopted the Dayforce platform in 2019 to consolidate its HR, payroll, benefits, and workforce management systems. The latest expansion integrates additional features designed to support employee development and streamline compensation planning.

“We needed a platform that could evolve with our organization, and Dayforce has delivered,” said Kristin Hamwey, chief people officer at the Buccaneers. “The seamless automation, insightful reporting, and intuitive self-service features have been game-changers for our team.”

Targeting compliance and employee experience

The Buccaneers employ more than 850 full-time and seasonal staff. According to Dayforce, the team has used the software to modernize HR operations, reduce manual processes, and offer mobile self-service tools to employees—key factors in improving operational efficiency in the fast-paced sports industry.

Chris Armstrong, chief customer officer at Dayforce, said professional sports teams face complex compliance and workforce challenges, making flexible, integrated tools critical for success. “We’re proud to strengthen our winning partnership with the Buccaneers and continue helping them maximize their workforce’s potential,” he said.

Technology central to sports team operations

The expansion reflects a broader trend in professional sports, where organizations are increasingly investing in enterprise-level technology to manage diverse workforces that include athletes, business staff, game-day personnel, and community engagement teams.

Based in Minneapolis and Toronto, Dayforce provides HCM technology to employers around the world. Its AI-powered platform combines HR, payroll, time tracking, talent management, and analytics on a single system.

The Buccaneers, who are entering their 50th season in the NFL, continue to position themselves as a forward-thinking franchise both on and off the field.
