AAR CORP. has appointed Sharon Purnell as senior vice president and chief human resources officer, the company announced Monday.
Purnell will lead AAR’s global human resources functions, including recruitment, talent development, and employee engagement efforts. She joins the Illinois-based aerospace services firm with more than 20 years of HR leadership experience across multiple sectors, including chemicals, media, and manufacturing.
“Sharon’s company integration experience and focus on talent retention are well matched to AAR’s strategic objectives,” said John Holmes, AAR’s chairman, president and CEO.
Track record in integration and retention
Most recently, Purnell served as CHRO at Stepan Company, where she led workforce development and cost-saving initiatives. She previously held the same role at Streamland Media, where she oversaw the integration of multiple acquisitions and streamlined employee benefits. Earlier in her career, she held senior HR positions at Riddell Sports, Underwriters Laboratories, Honeywell Aerospace, and General Electric.
