Associated Bank has appointed KeyBank executive Julio Manso as its new chief human resources officer effective June 2, replacing Angie DeWitt who is retiring from the position.
Manso, 57, will join the Wisconsin-based financial institution after serving as executive vice president of human resources at KeyBank since November 2020. He previously held senior human resources leadership positions at JPMorgan Chase from 2016 to 2020.
“Julio’s vision, strategic acumen and commitment to empowering teams makes him an ideal choice for this critical role,” said Associated Bank President and CEO Andy Harmening.
In his new position, Manso will report directly to Harmening and oversee all human resources functions, including succession planning, talent management, recruitment, culture development, performance management, training, internal communications and compensation. He will be based in Milwaukee.
Leadership background
Manso brings extensive experience in financial industry human resources leadership. At KeyBank, he managed HR strategy as executive vice president for more than four years before accepting the position at Associated.
His educational credentials include a master’s degree in industrial-organizational psychology from Kansas State University, an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Western Ontario.
Active in community service, Manso has served on the board and president’s council of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas.
DeWitt, the outgoing CHRO, will remain with Associated for a transition period after Manso assumes the role.
