Careington International Corporation has added new health and wellness savings plans to its self-service enrollment portal for small employers, the company announced this week.

The expanded offerings are available through Careington Direct, an online portal launched in 2020 that allows small businesses to enroll employees in discount healthcare programs. The platform now includes additional plans that cover dental, vision, telemedicine and virtual veterinary services, among other benefits.

The new plans are positioned as complements to traditional insurance or as standalone options for employers that do not offer conventional health coverage. The products are available to all types of workers, including full-time, part-time, independent contractors and retirees.

“While our products fill gaps in traditional benefits packages, they also serve as valuable, noninsured and affordable solutions for small businesses that don’t provide healthcare benefit options to their employees,” said Matthew Herrera, vice president of sales and business development at Careington.

New plan options outlined

The updated Careington Direct platform now includes five bundled offerings:

Dental and Vision Plan: Includes dental, vision, LASIK and teledentistry

Dental, Vision Plus Telehealth Plan: Adds prescription coverage, virtual urgent care and teledentistry

Telehealth Plan: Covers virtual urgent care, therapy, veterinary guidance, prescriptions and hearing

Virtual Vet Plan: Focused on virtual veterinary guidance

Total Health Discount Plan: A broader package including dental, vision, hearing, prescription, chiropractic, mental health services and more

Support for small businesses

Careington said the goal is to provide small businesses with easier access to affordable, flexible benefit options through a streamlined enrollment process. Benefits brokers can also use the portal to enroll their clients’ employees in these plans.

“We make our innovative programs accessible to employers of any size or industry and all employee types,” said CEO Stewart Sweda. “Careington is proud to serve small businesses and promote their employees’ health and financial wellness.”
