Perceptyx has launched a new AI-powered coaching agent that delivers personalized leadership guidance based on real-time employee experience data, a move aimed at helping organizations improve retention, productivity, and performance.
Called AI Coach, the tool connects directly to Perceptyx’s employee listening platform and uses insights from engagement surveys, 360-degree feedback, and other internal data to guide managers on specific behaviors that matter most to their teams. The goal is to align leadership development with actual team needs, rather than relying on generalized or disconnected coaching advice.
“What truly sets Perceptyx AI Coach apart is our unmatched ability to link individual coaching directly to employee experience insights,” said Joe Freed, chief product officer at Perceptyx.
Cost of poor management cited as key driver
Poor management practices are costly, with Perceptyx citing a combined $619 billion annual loss for U.S. businesses from turnover and lost productivity. While AI coaching tools have grown in popularity, many fall short by offering broad guidance that lacks relevance to specific organizational challenges.
Perceptyx aims to solve that by making its coaching agent “experience-aware”—using real-time data to recommend targeted actions. For instance, a manager overseeing a team with low psychological safety would receive different coaching prompts than one whose team lacks recognition or clarity in roles.
Action-focused AI with measurable results
Unlike AI tools that simply summarize feedback, AI Coach focuses on tangible outcomes. It offers:
- Personalized development plans based on manager blind spots
- Weekly nudges to reinforce leadership behaviors
- Conversational AI coaching tailored to evolving team dynamics
- Tools to track improvements and link them to business outcomes
In early pilot programs, companies saw measurable improvements in employee sentiment. Feedback scores for managers using the tool rose by as much as 12 points within six months. Some organizations were able to connect improvements to key metrics such as store performance and customer satisfaction.
Part of a broader development platform
AI Coach is part of Grow, Perceptyx’s leadership development offering. It builds on Nudge Theory by prompting managers weekly with behavioral guidance grounded in research. The tool draws from a library of over 2,500 nudges and a corpus of more than 10,000 pages of behavioral science content.
“Leadership development has always been a black box—expensive, hard to scale, and nearly impossible to measure,” said John Borland, CEO at Perceptyx. “AI Coach changes that. We’re delivering development that’s deeply relevant and directly tied to what employees are actually experiencing.”
AI Coach is available now as part of the Perceptyx platform.
