White Cap, a national distributor of specialty construction supplies, has been certified as a Great Place to Work for the third consecutive year, the company announced Tuesday.

The certification, based on direct employee feedback through the Great Place to Work Trust Index Survey, showed 80% of White Cap associates consider the company a great workplace — 23 percentage points higher than the U.S. company average.

“Our associates are the foundation of White Cap’s continued success,” said Alan Sollenberger, CEO. “Their dedication and passion move our business forward, and we remain committed to creating an environment where people feel empowered and supported in both their careers and personal lives.”

The survey evaluated key workplace dimensions including trust, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie among employees at the construction supply company.

Results highlighted several strengths in White Cap’s workplace culture:

  • 95% of employees reported feeling safe at work
  • 86% said they can be themselves and experience strong camaraderie
  • 86% felt their work makes a difference
  • 83% expressed desire to remain with the company long-term

“These results reflect the intentional investments we’re making to create a culture where every associate feels valued,” said Betsy Malkin, Chief Human Resources Officer. “By listening to our teams and evolving our programs based on their feedback, we’re continuing to build an organization where everyone can thrive.”

White Cap operates about 500 branches across North America, employing more than 10,500 associates who serve nearly 200,000 customers. The company distributes concrete accessories, chemicals, tools, building materials, fasteners, waterproofing products and safety equipment to professional contractors.

The Great Place to Work Certification program evaluates workplace cultures across 60 countries, with more than 10,000 companies applying annually.
