Edward Jones has been named one of the top employers in the United States for 2025, earning the No. 24 spot on Fortune’s annual 100 Best Companies to Work For list.
The ranking, compiled by Fortune and Great Place to Work, is based on a nationwide survey of more than 500,000 employees assessing workplace trust, culture, well-being and career development. For HR professionals and executives, the recognition offers insight into how large financial services firms are adapting their workplaces to retain talent in a competitive environment.
Focus on employee experience
Suzan McDaniel, chief human resources officer at Edward Jones, said the recognition reflects the firm’s continued focus on building a workplace grounded in purpose and support.
“We’re honored by this recognition, which reflects our ongoing commitment to foster a workplace driven by our purpose and focused on our associates’ experience, development and well-being,” she said.
Over the past year, the firm rolled out several initiatives aimed at professional growth and employee engagement. Among them is Ed, a personalized learning platform with access to more than 40 industry-recognized designations. New hires are supported through JonesStart, a peer mentorship onboarding program, and a firmwide Day of Development event connects thousands of employees through training and leadership development.
Edward Jones has also invested in new digital tools to increase flexibility and collaboration. McDaniel said these resources are designed to help associates grow and stay connected in a changing work environment.
Investments extend beyond HR
Beyond its people-focused programs, the firm has invested $1.5 billion in technology and expanded offerings in sustainable investing, financial planning, and services for high-net-worth clients. Edward Jones says it now serves more than 9 million clients across North America, supported by 20,000 financial advisors and 25,000 client service professionals.
The company’s Financial Fitness program, aimed at improving financial literacy, has reached over one million participants to date.
Selection process for the list
Companies eligible for the Fortune ranking must be Great Place to Work Certified and employ at least 1,000 people. The selection process includes analysis of employee responses to a 60-question survey and an evaluation of submitted workplace programs and policies.
