Sonoco appoints Andrea White as chief human resources officer

Sonoco Products Company has named Andrea White as its new chief human resources officer and elected her as a corporate officer, the company announced.

White, 50, is an 18-year veteran of the global packaging manufacturer. She will report directly to President and CEO Howard Coker and serve on the company’s executive committee.

“Andrea is a visionary people leader who brings extensive knowledge of operations, management and human resources to this important leadership position,” Coker said.

White began her career at Sonoco as a reliability engineer after more than a decade in manufacturing and process improvement at Milliken & Company. She later held positions including global maintenance excellence manager and director of the Sonoco Performance System and organizational development. In 2022, she was named vice president of global operational excellence, with responsibilities spanning commercial operations and information technology, before moving into HR leadership.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in textile engineering from North Carolina State University and is certified in lean manufacturing. White also serves on the Florence-Darlington Technical College Foundation Board.

Founded in 1899, Sonoco employs roughly 28,000 people across 40 countries and operates more than 300 facilities. The company provides sustainable packaging solutions to a range of global brands.
