UKG released new AI-powered payroll agents designed to automate repetitive tasks and help both employees and payroll administrators work more efficiently, the company said Monday.

The UKG Bryte payroll AI agents, now available for both UKG Pro and UKG Ready software suites, can identify errors, gather data from multiple sources, and help employees complete routine payroll tasks without human intervention.

“Recent UKG research shows 89% of employed Americans say AI should be viewed as a tool, not a co-worker. This aligns with our vision to deliver agentic AI solutions that simplify complex processes and take on the myriad of highly repetitive, frequently repeated processes,” said Suresh Vittal, chief product officer at UKG.

The enterprise-level tools for UKG Pro aim to speed up payroll processing by automating error detection and resolution across single or multiple payroll groups. For small and mid-sized businesses using UKG Ready, the AI agents offer employees a chat interface to review pay information and complete tasks like setting up direct deposit.

“UKG continues to deliver on its promise to use agentic AI to transform critical business processes, helping organizations to enrich their digital experiences and drive improved business performance,” said Liz Rennie, HR technology and services research director at NelsonHall.

The announcement follows UKG’s recent collaboration with ServiceNow, integrating UKG Bryte AI agents with ServiceNow’s AI Agent Fabric to modernize digital employee experiences by streamlining administrative tasks.

According to UKG, the new tools will allow payroll teams and employees to focus on more impactful work by handling routine processes that previously consumed significant time.
