Bobbie A. Moore named vice-president of HR at Anixter Center

The Anixter Center in Chicago has named Bobbie A. Moore as its new vice president of human resources, tasking her with leading the organization’s HR operations including talent management, benefits and compensation, and union and employee relations.

Moore joins Anixter after serving as vice president of people and culture at Navy Pier, where she led a wide range of HR functions such as strategic planning, performance management, recruitment and retention, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives.

“Bobbie’s experience in all facets of human resources, combined with her thought leadership in the diversity and inclusion arena and collaborative style will be invaluable to Anixter,” said Samantha Handley, president and chief executive officer of Anixter Center.

Moore holds an MBA from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies from Chicago State University. She is currently enrolled in executive education courses at Northwestern University’s Center for Nonprofit Management.

She is also active in several professional organizations, including the Chicago Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management and the National Association of African American Human Resources Management.

The Lester and Rosalie Anixter Center serves more than 7,500 people each year in the Chicago area. It provides support to individuals with disabilities, mental health needs, and those who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing. The organization’s mission is to promote inclusive communities and help individuals reach their full potential.
