VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Groundworks has named Laura Mueller as its new chief human resources officer, bringing a seasoned HR executive onto its leadership team as the company continues rapid expansion across North America.
Mueller joins Groundworks with more than 25 years of experience leading HR strategy in high-growth, multi-location organizations. Most recently, she oversaw human resources for more than 10,000 employees in 30 countries at Convergint Technologies, a global security and automation firm.
Her appointment comes as Groundworks looks to strengthen support for its workforce across the United States and Canada. The company said Mueller will lead efforts to expand employee development programs and improve resources for its growing team.
“Our continued success is driven by our commitment to investing in people, and Laura’s addition to our leadership team reinforces that focus,” said Matt Malone, founder and CEO of Groundworks. “We are not just growing our business; we are growing our people.”
Mueller holds degrees in human resources from Northern Illinois University and Keller Graduate School of Management, and completed the CHRO Program at Wharton Executive Education.
In a statement, Mueller said she was drawn to Groundworks’ employee-first culture, noting its promotion rate of over 16 per cent last year and its unique employee ownership model.
“The company’s unwavering commitment to its people is evident in everything it does,” she said.
Groundworks, which specializes in foundation repair and water management, has more than 78 offices across North America and has appeared on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies for eight consecutive years.
