Omnicom appointed Susan Catalano as chief people officer for its U.S. operations on Wednesday, creating a new executive position to oversee the company’s human resources organization nationwide.
Catalano will lead Omnicom’s HR team and operations across the United States, reporting directly to Chairman and CEO John Wren. The appointment comes as the marketing and communications company works to restructure its organization.
“Susan’s demonstrated ability to create innovative HR strategies in line with a company’s evolving business needs makes her a great fit to lead Omnicom’s people strategy,” said Wren.
Catalano brings global HR experience from previous leadership roles. She most recently served as managing partner, chief people officer and chief administrative officer at WeWork, where she directed global human resources functions. Before WeWork, she spent 20 years at Citi as managing director and senior human resources officer, overseeing HR operations and global recruitment across more than 100 countries.

The new chief people officer specializes in organizational redesign, talent management and guiding companies through transformational change. According to Omnicom, Catalano has experience leading global organizations through various economic conditions.
Beyond her corporate work, Catalano serves on the Board of Trustees at Hofstra University and has been invited to speak at the University of Virginia and Harvard Business School.
Omnicom provides marketing and sales solutions through its agency network, serving over 5,000 clients in more than 70 countries.
