Trade Hounds, a digital platform for the construction industry, has launched a free job posting feature to help contractors connect with skilled tradespeople amid a persistent labor shortage.
The new tool allows businesses to post job openings directly to nearly 400,000 active users on the Trade Hounds app—trades professionals who have joined the platform to network, share expertise, and access resources. The feature is part of a broader push to streamline hiring and strengthen the construction workforce.
“With the construction industry needing hundreds of thousands of new workers, we’re giving contractors a direct and cost-free way to reach top talent,” the company said in a statement.
Streamlined hiring through company accounts
To use the new feature, businesses can create a free company account within the Trade Hounds app. Once set up, they can post job listings and receive applications directly. Employees can also link personal profiles to their organization’s account, making it easier to share listings and manage applications.
The update comes as the U.S. construction industry faces a serious labor gap. The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) estimated in January that an additional 439,000 workers are needed this year alone to meet project demand. ABC Chief Economist Anirban Basu warned that continued shortages could drive up labor costs and limit construction capacity nationwide.
From digital community to all-in-one platform
Founded as a social platform specifically for tradespeople, Trade Hounds has evolved into a full-service utility for contractors and workers. Its recent acquisition of WRANGLD, a software company offering job management, estimating, and proposal tools, marked a significant expansion into contractor workflow solutions.
Those tools are being integrated into the Trade Hounds app, allowing users to manage projects, communicate with clients, and handle back-end operations alongside hiring functions—all from a single platform.
“There was no home for the digital worker,” said Jon Clark, co-founder and CTO of Trade Hounds. “That was really the start of it.”
Supporting an essential workforce
With the launch of the free job posting feature, Trade Hounds aims to lower the barrier to finding skilled workers and keep construction projects on track. The company says its growing suite of services reflects a broader mission to support the trades workforce and the contractors who rely on them.
Contractors can create an account and begin posting jobs at no cost. Tradespeople can browse openings by downloading the Trade Hounds app and creating a free profile.
