Grainger appointed Melanie Tinto as senior vice president and chief human resources officer effective April 28, the company announced Friday.
Tinto joins the Grainger Leadership Team and will oversee HR strategy and operations, including talent management, succession planning, compensation, organizational performance and benefits.

Tinto previously served as CHRO at WEX, a financial technology solutions provider, where she transformed the HR function into a strategic business partner, focusing on developing high-performing teams and integrating technology to improve operations.
Extensive leadership experience
Before her role at WEX, Tinto worked as vice president of global talent acquisition and chief learning officer at Medtronic. Her previous leadership positions include roles at Hewlett-Packard, Walmart and Bank of America.
With 30 years of experience in human resources, Tinto has demonstrated an ability to align people strategies with business objectives, according to the company. She will relocate to the Chicago area from Maine later this year.
