SHRM Labs will present its fourth annual Demo Day during the SHRM25 Annual Conference & Expo in San Diego on July 1, featuring three workplace technology startups that completed the organization’s 18-week accelerator program.

The live session runs from 10:45 to 11:45 AM PDT and will highlight companies working on frontline workforce training, employee data management, and HR system integration solutions.

Accelerator graduates address HR challenges

Three startups will present their platforms during the event. Bites converts traditional training content into mobile-friendly microlearning modules accessible through SMS and WhatsApp. Refresh creates a centralized HR platform that consolidates fragmented HR systems into a single interface. TransCrypts uses blockchain technology to streamline employment and income verification processes.

Each company will demonstrate their solutions and share customer testimonials during the presentations.

“Demo Day offers leaders, HR professionals, and technology enthusiasts a front-row seat to groundbreaking workplace solutions,” said Andy Biladeau, SHRM’s chief transformation officer and Demo Day moderator. “This year’s cohort has introduced platforms and technologies designed to empower HR to tackle some of the biggest business challenges their organizations are facing today.”

Investment and mentorship program

The WorkplaceTech Accelerator provides participating startups with $200,000 in equity investment from SHRM, along with potential additional funding based on milestone achievements. Companies work with advisory councils composed of HR and business executives throughout the program.

Graduates become part of the SHRM Labs alumni network, gaining access to ongoing support and visibility within the HR community.

Sparrow, a leave management solutions provider, sponsors this year’s Demo Day. The company offers tech-enabled leave management services that help organizations automate employee leave processes while maintaining compliance requirements.

About the program

The accelerator program runs for 12 weeks and includes both in-person and virtual events designed to help startups understand the HR market and workplace needs. Participants receive business development exposure, learn about HR industry requirements, and refine their products with guidance from industry experts.

SHRM operates as a member-driven organization focused on workplace improvement, serving nearly 340,000 members across 180 countries. The organization provides research, advocacy, and thought leadership on workplace issues affecting more than 362 million workers and their families globally.
